The following is a brief history regarding the Bible and is meant to give a basic understanding of the history of the Bible.

A great deal is known about when and how the Bible was written. It has been determined that the Bible was written over a course of sixteen hundred years and was written by forty authors. It is widely accepted that the first writings of Moses began somewhere near the year 1500 B.C. and John the author of the last book Revelations, completed his writings about the year A.D. 90. This time estimate fills a span of sixteen centuries.

The Bible was originally written in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek, before being translated into other languages. It is divided into two major sections known as the Old Testament and The New Testament. The Old Testament consist of thirty-nine books and the New Testament consist of twenty-seven books.
